Vaccines have been referred to as one of the most important medical advancements in all of mankind. Vaccines have helped eradicate disease like smallpox and have greatly reduced the incidence of diseases like polio, measles and rubella by building herd immunity. Herd immunity through vaccination is the key to maintaining public health. There are mountains of data in support of the safety and efficacy of these life-saving vaccines, but there still exists a mindset in some that vaccines are “dangerous” and that they “don’t work.” This couldn’t be further from the truth.
There are countless articles and blogs which promote unnecessary fear and misconceptions about vaccines. This Pro-Vaccine Task Force is a group of volunteer healthcare professionals and vaccine advocates who collaborate together to write rebuttals to these articles and blogs in order to correct the misconceptions of these anti-vaccine resources.
